Job summary

WELL Health Diagnostic Centres seeks a Medical Radiation Technologist (X-Ray/Nuclear Medicine) to join a multi-location team across Ontario, including Milton, Mississauga, Toronto, and more. The role offers permanent full-time employment with 37.5 hours per week and day/evening/flexible shifts.

The incumbent will perform diagnostic imaging procedures, ensure quality and safety, and work closely with clinic leadership.

Qualifications

  • Experience with radiology and nuclear medicine imaging.
  • CPR and First Aid certification maintained.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administer diagnostic x-ray procedures and examinations.
  • Perform radiation detection and imaging support as applicable.
  • Maintain quality and turnaround time of tests and reports.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety under clinic leadership guidance.
  • Prepare reports and respond to technical questions as needed.
  • Upgrade skills through trainings and courses.
  • Support flexible shifts and multiple locations as required.

Job Title: Medical Radiation Technologist (X-Ray/ Nuclear Medicine Technologist)

Reporting to: Clinic Leader / Regional Leader

Locations: Various locations across Ontario - Milton & Mississauga, Brampton, Newmarket, Orangeville, North York, Thornhill, Toronto, London, Sarnia, Simcoe, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Scarborough, Pickering, Oshawa & Whitby and Lindsay. Please note that these vacancies are open at a variety of our locations across Ontario and our employees may be assigned to one or more locations depending upon our scheduling needs.

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

Hours of Work: 37.5 Work hours per Week (Day, Evening, Flexible Hours, Overtime, Weekend)

Responsibilities
  • Administer diagnostic x‑ray procedures and examinations. (Only applicable to X‑Ray Technologists)
  • May perform radiation detection through gamma cameras, scanners, scintillation counters, tomodensitometers and ionization chambers, to acquire data for use by nuclear medicine physicians in the diagnosis of disease. (Only applicable to Nuclear Technologists)
  • Maintain all company standards including quality of work and results, test procedure and methodology, turn‑around time, confidentiality of test results; assist and/or provide training as required.
  • Ensure patient comfort and confidence in the competence and professionalism of the centre and its staff. The technologist’s duties are to be performed under the guidance of the clinic leader.
  • Prepare reports for the information; answer technical questions, carrying out any necessary information.
  • Demonstrate knowledge on company procedures and standards; including procedures relating to the performance and documentation of examinations, booking system reporting procedures, turn‑around time, equipment, and methods used in other company centres, and the amount of training required to attain familiarity.
  • Ensure personal development through training courses and/or training appropriately to upgrade technical skills, abilities and knowledge.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities that may be assigned and ability to work in various shifts.
Qualifications, Experience & Requirements
  • College, CEGEP or other non‑university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Work Experience: 1 to less than 7 months.
  • Current and valid Certificate of Registration with the Association of Medical Radiation Technologists of the relevant province.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in general nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Maintain current CPR and First Aid certificate.
  • Maintain competence in position by attending staff meetings.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal awareness & skills, good command of the English language and excellent communication skills, accuracy, dependable, flexible, judgement, reliable and team player, attention to detail.
  • Ability to work varying shifts and ability to work independently as well as part of a team and in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Self‑evaluate performance, establish personal objectives and participate in yearly staff performance review.
