Job summary

Clearpoint Health Network's New Westminster Surgical Centre is hiring a casual Medical Radiation Technologist to support diagnostic imaging services in a busy centre. The role involves maintaining radiology equipment, adhering to safety procedures, and ensuring patient data privacy, with a focus on quality assurance and accurate image storage.

Qualified candidates will hold a MRT diploma, be CAMRT registered, and have fluoroscopy experience in an operating room.

Qualifications

• Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program.
• Active CAMRT registration.
• Experience with fluoroscopy in an operating room environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the radiology equipment and auxiliary equipment function correctly and are maintained properly.
• Follow documented safe operating procedures for the equipment.
• Practices effective radiation protection, infection control, and safety techniques as applicable.
• Handle all personal information and all personal health information according to the appropriate governing privacy legislation.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control activities according to equipment manufacturer’s instructions and all applicable industry standards.
• Ensure all images are saved and filed in the appropriate medical record.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

New Westminster Surgical Centre, a division of Clearpoint Health Network is hiring a casual Medical Radiation Technologist.

Wage: $44.00/hr-$50.00/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the radiology equipment and auxiliary equipment function correctly and are maintained properly.

Qualifications

• Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program.
• Active registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
• Must have experience with fluoroscopy in an operating room environment.

Additional Qualifications

• Recent, relevant experience as an MRT performing procedures in general diagnostic imaging and fluoroscopy.
• Demonstrated competence in radiological procedures requiring independent judgement and initiative.
• Must be able to comprehend, speak, read and write English fluently and be understood by others with whom they are in contact
• Good organization skills and ability to assume responsibility.
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with various levels of personnel in an inter-disciplinary environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Demonstrated problem solving and critical analysis skills.
• Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy when dealing with patients, staff and physicians.
• Must be in good physical health and be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time without resting.
• May be exposed to radiation (within acceptable limits).
