Job summary

Bigstone Health Commission in Calling Lake, AB is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to join our Medical Clinic Team at the Bigstone Health Centre. This casual – as needed role supports a multidisciplinary team and emphasizes respect for First Nation culture and community health service.

You will perform EMR data entry, appointment bookings, and basic clinical support while contributing to a welcoming, collaborative workplace that supports professional development and patient care.

Qualifications

• Two years of related Medical Administrative experience; equivalencies considered.
• Unit Clerk, Medical Office Assistant or Nursing Aide Certificate is a MUST.

Responsibilities

• Obtain files, demographics, background information and accurately enter into EMR; maintain organized patient charts.
• Provide administrative support: faxing, patient record entry, charting, referrals.
• Book appointments, patient call backs/reminders, and communicate with external health services and providers.
• Record patient vital signs and measurements as required.
• Support Nursing, Physicians and other health care providers as MOA within scope.
• Available to work Monday to Friday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
• Other duties as required.
