Position: Medical Office Assistant (MOA)

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced MOA eager to work to their full scope of practice, providing administrative support and assisting healthcare professionals in delivering client-centered care.


The MOA reports to the Clinic Manager and collaborates with healthcare and community providers.


Specific Skills:
  1. Maintaining electronic medical records, email, and paper filing systems;
  2. Completing client forms, referrals, and correspondence;
  3. Managing referral procedures and documents;
  4. Handling daily clerical and billing tasks;
  5. Participating in special projects;
  6. Updating knowledge of community services;
  7. Providing transcription and clerical support as needed;
  8. Performing other related duties.

Qualifications:
  1. Part-time, flexible, and adaptable;
  2. Medical Office Administration Diploma (asset);
  3. Knowledge of clinical procedures and transcription (asset);
  4. Experience with EMRs (CHR) and Alberta NetCare (asset);
  5. Referral experience (asset);
  6. Medical billing knowledge (asset);
  7. Awareness of community programs and services (asset).

Condition of Employment:
  1. Proof of a clean criminal record;
  2. MOA certification copy.
