Integrated Staffing is currently seeking a reliable, organized, and professional Administrative Assistant to join a busy primary care clinic.
This position is ideal for someone with strong administrative and communication skills who enjoys working in a healthcare environment and providing a welcoming experience to patients and visitors. The clinic also serves as an assessment centre for internationally trained physicians, making this a diverse and engaging administrative role. The successful candidate will support day-to-day clinic operations, including reception, appointment scheduling, patient intake, data entry, record management, and general administrative support.
The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and front-desk support within a busy primary care clinic and assessment centre. Responsibilities will include greeting patients and visitors, answering and directing phone calls and emails, responding to patient inquiries, scheduling and confirming appointments, assisting with patient intake, collecting and updating demographic and insurance information, completing accurate data entry into the EMR and other databases, maintaining patient records and documentation, communicating with physicians, healthcare staff, patients, and other stakeholders, assisting with patient flow, preparing documents and correspondence, maintaining an organized reception area, handling confidential patient information appropriately, and providing general administrative support to the clinic and assessment center as needed.
The successful candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with post-secondary education in Medical Office Administration preferred; however, candidates with a Business Administration background will also be considered. Previous experience in a medical or healthcare administrative setting is preferred, along with experience using EMR systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong communication, customer service, organization, attention to detail, and time-management skills are required, along with the ability to work professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and individuals from diverse backgrounds. Candidates must be comfortable handling confidential information and working in a busy clinic environment. A clear criminal background check and vulnerable sector check are required. The successful candidate must also be able to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
