Job Summary

The Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) provides a professional service in laboratory analyses and interpretation in all areas of Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Medicine/Immunology. The MLT contributes to the hospital’s goal of shockingly excellent service by providing accurate and timely results in a manner consistent with professional standards. The MLT is a technical resource to staff, physicians, internal and external customers.

Qualifications

1. Graduate from a recognized Medical Laboratory Technology program and CSMLS certification as a General MLT
2. 30 hours of continuing education credits every year as per CMLTO
3. Member in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
4. Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
5. Demonstrated problem assessment skills
6. Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
7. Demonstrated individual leadership skills

Regular and reliable attendance is an expected requirement of this position.
