Island Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to enhance patient care by performing laboratory procedures and clerical duties. The ideal candidate will have Grade 12 education, successful completion of a recognized training program, and strong communication skills. This role requires travel and the ability to operate laboratory equipment efficiently.

The Department of Laboratory Medicine, Pathology and Medical Genetics (LMPMG) is committed to enhancing patient care through the provision of high-quality laboratory services.
Reporting to the Team Leader, Chief Technologist, or designate, the Medical Laboratory Assistant performs laboratory procedures and related clerical duties. This includes blood and specimen collection, preparing samples for analysis, distributing and storing samples, and performing laboratory tests such as urinalysis using colour-coded dipsticks and Electrocardiogram (ECG) testing where required.
Travel may be required for this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Island Health in accordance with the service assignment.
