A leading health authority in Victoria is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join their Laboratory Medicine department. The role involves conducting laboratory tests and managing specimens to ensure high-quality patient care. Candidates must have Grade 12 education and relevant training, along with strong communication and organizational skills.

The Department of Laboratory Medicine, Pathology and Medical Genetics (LMPMG) is dedicated to enhancing patient care through high-quality laboratory services.
Reporting to the Team Leader, Chief Technologist, or designate, the Medical Laboratory Assistant performs laboratory procedures and related clerical duties. Responsibilities include blood and specimen collection, preparing samples for analysis, distributing and storing samples, conducting laboratory tests such as urinalysis with colour-coded dipsticks, and performing Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing as required.
Travel may be required for this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational needs of Vancouver Island Health Authority, in accordance with the service assignment.
Grade 12 education, successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program, and one (1) year of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid BC Class 5 Vehicle Licence.
