The Department of Laboratory Medicine, Pathology and Medical Genetics (LMPMG) aims to enhance patient care through high-quality laboratory services.
Reporting to the Team Leader, Chief Technologist, or designate, the Medical Laboratory Assistant performs laboratory procedures and related clerical duties. Responsibilities include blood and specimen collection, sample preparation for analysis, sample distribution and storage, conducting laboratory tests such as urinalysis with colour-coded dipsticks, and performing Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing as required.
Travel may be required for this position. Transportation arrangements must meet operational requirements in accordance with the service assignment of Vancouver Island Health Authority.
