Job summary

Northern Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support our Laboratory department in a dynamic, patient-focused setting. You will perform specimen collection, preparation and testing, and provide related clerical and laboratory support functions to ensure smooth operations.

You will also conduct inpatient and/or outpatient ECG testing and Holter monitoring as required, explain procedures to patients, and perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance to uphold safety and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection, preparation and testing, and provide related clerical support in the laboratory.
• Conduct inpatient and/or outpatient Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing and/or Holter monitor testing as required, and explain test procedures to patients.
• Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance as part of lab operations.
