Job summary

LifeLabs is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to contribute to accurate diagnostic testing and reporting. You will work in a collaborative, teaching-oriented environment with access to Medical Science support and student placements.

This permanent, regular part-time role (20–37.5 hours/week) offers an afternoon shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM in Hematology, with ASAP start. The ideal candidate holds an MLS degree and CMLTO registration, and demonstrates strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• College diploma or University degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent.
• CMLTO registration in good standing is required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced lab with safety and accuracy standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a wide range of diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing.
• Prepare and process samples with accurate labeling and documentation.
• Perform, interpret and release results with patient confidentiality.
• Identify incidents and non-conformities; support corrective actions.
• Assist with evaluation and implementation of new technology.
• Participate in problem solving for workflow optimization.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Our Medical Lab Technologists provide accurate and timely interpretive and diagnostic specimen testing and reporting. Through accuracy, quality, efficiency and expediting test results, you will contribute to patient well-being and the achievement of better health outcomes. LifeLabs facilities are also known as teaching laboratories and offer opportunities to share knowledge in a collaborative environment. You will have 24-hour medical support through our Medical Science team and Medical Library, and the ability to teach our college and university student placements.

Status: Permanent, Regular Part Time (between 20 and 37.5 hours per week)

Your responsibilities will include:
