Job Purpose:

As the Medical Head, Oncology at GSK, you will be a key leader within our Medical division and Canadian organization. You will drive Medical Affairs Teams to develop and implement patient-centric medical strategies, contribute to enterprise planning, and ensure the successful launch and appropriate use of our oncology portfolio in collaboration with commercial partners. You will also represent Canada on the Global Oncology Leadership Team, ensuring the Canadian perspective is integrated into global strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the development and execution of Oncology Medical Affairs plans and External Engagement Plans across Canada.
  2. Represent Canada on the global leadership team, ensuring Canadian perspectives influence global oncology strategies.
  3. Collaborate with Commercial Leadership Team Partners to identify external expert and patient needs, and develop strategies for product launches and patient use.
  4. Coordinate with Clinical Development teams to align clinical trial plans and evidence generation with brand strategies.
  5. Oversee development of GSK-supported and investigator-sponsored studies.
  6. Partner with Regulatory Affairs to ensure effective filing strategies and product labeling for Canada.
  7. Represent GSK Medical Canada Oncology with external bodies, including physician and patient organizations.
  8. Provide expertise on competitor products to support commercial strategies.
  9. Manage compliance issues related to governance and risk.
  10. Participate in Medical Division leadership and cross-enterprise collaborations.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree with significant industry experience, or PhD/MD. Oncology experience preferred but not required.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in related fields, including leadership roles.
  • Experience leading a Medical Affairs team in the pharmaceutical industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in English and French.
  • PhD or MD.
  • Deep understanding of drug development, regulatory, and commercialization processes.
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian healthcare system and stakeholder priorities.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and complex strategy development skills.
  • Ability to translate business strategy into market access strategies.
  • Portfolio management skills and project trade-off navigation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proactive, resilient, and innovative problem-solver.
  • Knowledge of the GSK portfolio is an asset.
