BGBx in Canada seeks a Medical Editor to ensure editorial integrity and factual accuracy across marketing materials, adhering to AMA style and FDA rules. You will edit content, fact-check data, and maintain high-quality standards under the supervision of Editorial leadership.

The role supports after-hours work, with 2:00 PM–10:00 PM ET hours, and involves collaboration across editorial and brand teams to deliver compliant, polished material.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., English or Life Sciences) is required.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in medical education preferred, or relevant experience in pharmaceutical advertising, medical publishing, or medical communication.
• Familiarity with AMA style and knowledge of FDA rules and regulations.
• Proficient in basic grammar and spelling rules.
• Knowledge of proofreading and editing symbols.
• Ability to ensure scientific accuracy by fact-checking copy.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
• Willingness to mentor within Editorial department.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Familiarity with Teams, Zoom, Slack.

• Edits initial round of jobs for content and AMA/FDA compliance, grammar, and consistency.
• Fact-checks initial and subsequent rounds; understands scientific data and represents source accurately.
• Ensures quality of formatting and visual layout.
• Performs editorial reviews from initial edit through release, including copyedits and fact-checks.
• Creates and maintains comprehensive style guides for accounts.
• Participates in timelines and meetings for assigned accounts.
• Establishes strong working relationships within the brand team.
• Provides backup to other Editorial staff.
• Tracks time spent on each job daily in the time-tracking system.
• Keeps Supervisors/Directors updated on workload and status.
• Mentors freelance or newer editors as needed.
• Promotes collaboration and proactive communication within the team.
• Uses BGB-provided tools like GlobalVision and ChatGPT Enterprise to aid reviews.
• Participates in after-hours and weekend editor rotation.
