Job summary

Lacroix Private Lab is seeking a Medical Biology Service Manager to lead the laboratory team and oversee daily operations under the Laboratory Director.

The Head of Service will be hands-on, present on the shop floor, and drive quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement while coordinating with the two Assistant Heads and external partners. Daytime role with occasional after-hours support.

Qualifications

• Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Biomedical Laboratory Technology.
• Professional Order of Medical Technologists of Quebec (OPTMQ) member in good standing.
• Minimum five years of laboratory experience, including two years in supervision or management.
• Experience in various laboratory sectors or good understanding of their operations.
• Leadership, autonomy, initiative, and strong organizational skills.
• Management training or equivalent experience is an asset.
• Experience in project management or process optimization is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and ensure smooth daily operation of the laboratory with two Assistant Heads.
• Supervise, motivate, and support teams including scheduling, onboarding, training, and development.
• Maintain floor presence and resolve operational issues with the assistants.
• Support technologists during busy periods or unfilled absences and during recalls.
