Job summary

Perimeter Aviation is seeking a Transport Canada-qualified Captain for urgent medical transport across Northern Manitoba and Ontario. Lead medevac missions with safety, timely performance, and patient care at the forefront.

You will operate under CARs, manuals, and SOPs, completing meticulous preflight, flight watch, and post-flight duties while coordinating with medical teams and dispatch. Remote-base rotations are a key aspect of the role.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CPL and Category 1 Medical; ATPL required for Medevac Captain appointment.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations and company/docs.

Responsibilities

  • Command medevac flights with safety, on-time performance, patient comfort, and crew coordination.
  • Operate per CARs, Company Operations Manual, Aircraft Flight Manual, and SOPs.
  • Complete preflight requirements: Operational Flight Plan, weather/NOTAM review, fuel/oil needs, weight & balance, manifest acceptance, Journey Log entries, and a preflight inspection.
  • Perform Type B flight watch with Dispatch and Type C flight watch; maintain clear communication with crew, flight followers, dispatcher, and medical teams.
  • Assist with patient care logistics; lift, load, and secure patients, cargo, baggage, and freight; brief passengers.
  • Execute post-flight duties: post-flight inspection, track aircraft whereabouts, record flight times/defects.
  • Engage in Safety Management System and meet Transport Canada qualification standards.
  • Adapt to changing remote-base assignments and additional duties as required.

About Perimeter Aviation

Established in 1960, Perimeter Aviation LP is a diversified Canadian air operator with ~900 employees and a 45+ aircraft fleet, including Metro II/III/23, Merlin, and Dash 8. We provide scheduled passenger and freight services to Northern Manitoba and Northern Ontario, 24/7 North American charters, medical evacuation services, and full‑service maintenance.

What You’ll Do
  • Command medevac flights with unwavering commitment to safety, on‑time performance, patient comfort, and crew coordination.
  • Operate strictly per CARs, Company Operations Manual, Aircraft Flight Manual, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Complete all preflight requirements: Operational Flight Plan, weather and NOTAM review, fuel/oil needs, weight & balance, manifest acceptance, Journey Log entries, and a thorough preflight inspection.
  • Perform Type B flight watch jointly with Dispatch and complete Type C flight watch, ensuring clear, constant communication with crew, flight followers, dispatcher, and medical teams.
  • Assist as appropriate with patient care logistics; lift, load, and secure patients, cargo, baggage, and freight; brief passengers per SOPs.
  • Execute post‑flight duties: post‑flight inspection, confirm aircraft whereabouts when away from base, and record flight times/defects.
  • Engage actively in the Company’s Safety Management System and continually meet/exceed Transport Canada qualification standards.
  • Adapt to changing remote‑base assignments and additional duties as operationally required.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Licenses & Medical: Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), Category 1 Medical, Group 1 Instrument Rating; ATPL required for 703/704 Medevac Captain appointment.
  • Experience: 1500 hrs total time with 500 hrs PIC.
  • Eligibility: Canadian citizen or unrestricted ability to work in Canada; fluent in English.
  • Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations and company/aircraft documentation.
  • Travel Documents: Valid passport and valid driver’s licence.
  • Asset: Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training.

  • Maintain Transport Canada approvals and continue to meet/exceed all qualification standards for the role.
Security & Compliance
  • Obtain and maintain all applicable transportation security clearances and authorizations.
  • Complete Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record checks.
