Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Technology, Architectural Technology, or related program.
• 5+ years experience in building design, specifically plumbing design and/or installation for commercial and multi-unit residential buildings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; REVIT considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead or assist in developing design briefs and verification requirements.
• Monitor project scope, timelines, and deliverables; communicate impacts to the Project Lead.
• Prepare and coordinate plumbing design drawings for permit and construction.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to maintain design intent.
• Review and issue shop drawings; support construction with site reviews.
• Attend design and coordination meetings; record and distribute minutes.
• Assist with fee proposals, pricing reviews, and occupancy sign-off activities.
• Document all key project correspondence and ensure records for close-out.
• Other related duties as assigned by the Plumbing or MEP Division Leads.

Mechanical Technologist

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Mechanical Technologist to join our growing Mechanical Engineering Department in London, Ontario. Working within a multidisciplinary team this role supports the Plumbing Division in the design and delivery of projects for residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial sector clients across Southwestern Ontario.

Our ideal candidate will take ownership of independent project tasks, design documentation, and site coordination responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead or assist in developing design briefs, verification requirements, and project checklists to ensure quality and compliance with standards
• Monitor project scope, timelines, and deliverables; identify and communicate potential cost or schedule impacts to the Project Lead
• Prepare and coordinate plumbing design drawings for permit and construction under the direction of the Project Engineer or Project Lead
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to maintain design intent and project milestones
• Review and issue shop drawings and support construction services with site reviews and technical clarification
• Attend design and coordination meetings; record and distribute meeting minutes
• Assist with fee proposal preparation, pricing reviews, peer review coordination, occupancy and project sign-off activities to confirm systems align with design and specifications.
• Document all significant project correspondence and ensure records are properly stored for project close-out
• Other related duties as assigned by the Plumbing or MEP Division Leads

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Mechanical Technology, Architectural Technology, or related program
• 5+ years experience in building design, specifically plumbing design and/or installation for commercial and multi-unit residential apartment buildings preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; experience in REVIT considered an asset

• Extensive experience with the OBC
