Job summary

NexWav is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor for a permanent full‑time role in Quebec. You will supervise a maintenance team, plan work, resolve mechanical issues, and improve equipment reliability at a Sainte‑Aurélie plant.

The position involves 42 hours/week (7/7 rotation), day and weekend shifts, and the ability to lead technical teams while ensuring safety and compliance. Fluency in French is expected.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising or coordinating a maintenance team.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial mechanics and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to analyze problems and set priorities.
  • Leadership, autonomy and decision-making skills.
  • French language skills required (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mobilize, and support maintenance employees.
  • Demonstrate mobilizing leadership and promote collaboration between teams.
  • Provide technical assistance during mechanical system failures.
  • Plan, coordinate, and ensure follow‑up on regular, preventive, and corrective maintenance.

  • Perform daily follow‑up on work orders and the preventive maintenance program.
  • Verify the quality and compliance of completed work.
  • Analyze breakdowns and failures to determine their causes.

  • Coordinate maintenance with sawing and planing operations.

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Supervisor to support the activities of a plant located in Sainte-Aurélie.

Job summary

Reporting to the operations management, the Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for supervising mechanical maintenance activities and supporting the technical team.

The selected candidate will play a central role in planning work, resolving mechanical issues, improving equipment reliability, and developing team members.

Main responsibilities
  • Supervise, mobilize, and support maintenance employees.

Desired profile
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or equivalent training.
  • A relevant combination of training and experience may also be considered.
  • Experience in supervising or coordinating a work team.
  • Good knowledge of industrial mechanics and production equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to analyze technical problems and establish priorities.
  • Leadership, autonomy, and decision‑making skills.
  • Good communication and mobilization skills.
  • Organizational skills and ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Functional to intermediate level spoken and written French.

  • Experience in a sawmill, planing mill, or wood industry.
