Job summary

Maple Reinders Constructors in Charlottetown, PEI, is seeking an Experienced Mechanical Project Coordinator to join our Civil division. You will support the project team in delivering heavy civil and industrial projects, assist with documentation, estimating, budgeting, and scheduling, and help ensure projects are profitable, on spec, and safe.

This site-based role offers exposure to Design-Build, Plan and Spec, and CM contracts, with opportunities to develop toward a Project Manager role while

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years or more experience as a Project Coordinator in the construction industry.
  • University Degree/Technology Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Process mechanical experience is a MUST.
  • Valid driver's license and access to own vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in budgets and construction schedules; set up project files.
  • Maintain correspondence with Owner, Architect, engineers, subs, and suppliers.
  • Manage equipment and materials on site with shop drawings and installation procedures.
  • Source suppliers, obtain quotations, and clarify scopes with subs.
  • Assist planning and coordination of commissioning activities.
  • Build relationships with clients, consultants, realtors, and developers.
  • Support site safety in line with regulations and company policy.
  • Attend site meetings and help close project deficiencies.
  • Assist with tender closures in consultation with senior managers.

Mechanical Project Coordinator (Civil Construction)

Maple Reinders Constructors is currently searching for an Experienced Mechanical Project Coordinator to join our Civil construction division in Charlottetown, PEI. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be a part of the PEI Energy Systems Waste to Energy Facility Renewal and Modernization Project.

As a Mechanical Project Coordinator in our Civil division, you will have the opportunity to support our project team in delivering heavy civil and industrial-type projects. In addition, you’ll support the project team with documentation, estimating, budgeting, and scheduling, while gaining exposure to various contract types such as Design-Build, Plan and Spec, and Construction Management. Your key responsibility is to help ensure projects are delivered profitably, to spec, with high quality and a strong focus on site safety.

In doing so, you will be involved in:
  • Assisting in preparing budgets and construction schedules, setting up project administration files
  • With direction from the Project Manager, initiating and maintaining correspondence with Owner, Architect, Engineers, sub-trades and suppliers
  • Management of purchased equipment and materials onsite in coordination with shop drawings, storage instructions and installation procedures
  • Gain an understanding of how to select suppliers and sub-trades and obtaining quotations
  • Assisting with and/or clarifying scope of work with sub-trades and suppliers
  • Assisting in the planning, coordination and execution of various commissioning
  • Developing successful relationships with current and prospective clients, consultants, realtors, and developers
  • Ensuring there is a continuous focus on site safety in accordance with regulatory requirements as well as our Corporate Health and Safety Policy
  • Attending site meetings and assisting in the completion of project deficiencies
  • Closing tenders in consultation with senior managers

Qualifications/Skills:
  • Minimum of 2 years or more experience as a Project Coordinator in the construction industry.
  • A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, mechanical trade or a combination of education and industry experience.
  • Process mechanical experience is a MUST.
  • Valid drivers license and access to own vehicle.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 / Year (depending on experience)
