Job summary

Equinox Gold Corp. is seeking a Mill Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor for our Geraldton, Ontario operation on a 14/14 rotation. You will lead mechanical maintenance activities in the mill, ensuring safety, quality, and reliability while meeting production targets.

Responsibilities include supervising daily maintenance, coordinating schedules, managing work orders, and mentoring the team to uphold high safety and quality standards in a challenging mining environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in maintenance of heavy process plant equipment (crushers, grinding), pumps, conveyors, agitators, gearboxes.
• Experience supervising in an ore processing plant is preferred.
• Strong safety leadership and KPI ownership are essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all work complies with safety policies and OH&S legislation.
• Own safety KPI targets and drive performance through leadership and field presence.
• Complete safety actions, inspections, hazard reporting, and corrective measures on time.
• Ensure maintenance meets quality standards before equipment is back in service.
• Supervise daily maintenance activities and optimize crew utilization.
• Manage scheduling, timesheets, overtime, and leave requests.
• Identify gaps in weekly maintenance to maintain productivity and minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with reliability team to improve equipment performance and plant availability.
• Support asset management and reliability initiatives for long-term performance.
• Coordinate with operations/planning to prioritize and schedule work.
• Ensure accurate documentation of work orders, time confirmations, and reporting.
• Mentor and hold team members accountable for performance, safety, and quality.
• Serve as communication link between frontline crews and management.
• Oversee major maintenance tasks, shutdowns, and projects; provide coverage during extended shutdowns.

We are seeking a Mill Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor to join our team. Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Senior Supervisor, the Mill Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor is accountable for the safe and efficient execution of mill mechanical maintenance activities. This role ensures work is completed to established quality standards while meeting production, cost, and environmental targets. The supervisor is directly responsible for achieving all assigned safety KPIs and contributing to overall plant reliability and performance.

This position is based in Geraldton, Ontario and operates on a 14/14 rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all work is performed in full compliance with company safety policies and applicable OH&S legislation.
• Take ownership of assigned safety KPI targets and drive performance through active leadership, field presence, and follow-up.
• Ensure timely completion of safety action items, inspections, hazard reporting, and corrective measures.
• Ensure all maintenance work meets established quality and workmanship standards prior to returning equipment to service.
• Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure schedule adherence and efficient crew utilization.
• Manage workforce scheduling and approve timesheets, overtime, and vacation/leave requests in alignment with operational requirements.
• Identify and manage breaks or gaps in weekly maintenance schedules to maintain productivity and minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with the reliability team to identify equipment performance gaps and implement improvements that enhance plant availability and production.
• Support asset management and reliability initiatives to improve long-term equipment performance.
• Work closely with operations and planning teams to prioritize and schedule maintenance work effectively.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of documentation, including work orders, time confirmations, and reporting requirements.
• Develop, mentor, and hold team members accountable for performance, safety, and quality expectations.
• Act as the communication link between frontline crews and management.
• Oversee major maintenance tasks, shutdown activities, and assigned projects within the Mill Maintenance Department.
• Provide supervisory coverage during extended shutdowns, major projects, or leadership.

Required Experience and Skill Set

• Strong safety leadership with a demonstrated commitment to achieving measurable safety results.
• Clear organizational skills with the ability to plan, structure, and prioritize work effectively.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to hold teams accountable while fostering a positive work environment.
• Working knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance fundamentals.
• 5+ years of experience maintaining heavy process plant equipment, including crushing equipment (gyratory and cone crushers), grinding equipment (ball mills, high-pressure grinding rolls), slurry pumping and classification systems, conveyor systems, agitators, and gearboxes.
• Progressive supervisory experience in an ore processing plant is preferred.
• Experience overseeing a multidisciplinary maintenance group is considered an asset.
