Job summary

Veracio in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a Scanning Technician for a travelling, on-the-road role with a Fly In, Fly Out schedule. You will operate field-deployable analytical equipment, troubleshoot issues, and support field scanning operations.

Ideal candidates have drill rig field experience, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and a solid grasp of core sampling processes. You must be willing to travel and work varied rosters.

Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in Canada.
  • Field experience on a drill rig or mining/exploration core facility is highly desirable.
  • Ability to log and understand core samples.
  • Excellent customer service orientation and client relationship skills.
  • Strong interest in digital technologies and new innovations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and proactive initiative.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • A current driver's license.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical skills (desirable).
  • Experience with 4WD and Senior First Aid (desirable).
  • Willingness to travel and work on varied rosters.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and fault finding of technical issues with proprietary analytical equipment.
  • Operate and troubleshoot field-deployable electronic equipment and supporting software.
  • Conduct field and workshop scanning activities.
  • Provide logistical support for field scanning operations.
  • Escalate and document incidents per the Issue Management System.
  • Travel regularly, including on short notice, to fulfill responsibilities.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting, service and repairs.
  • Contribute to SWP creation and training documentation.
  • Support Product Development through testing and reporting activities.

We are currently seeking a Scanning Technician to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. This position is a travelling “on the road” role, with a Fly In, Fly Out, schedule rotation.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada
  • Field experience working on a drill rig; mining or exploration core facility (highly desirable)
  • Understanding of handling and logging core samples (desirable)
  • Excellent customer service orientation and ability to maintain relationships with key account customers and internal team.
  • Demonstrated interest in digital technologies and new innovations
  • Excellent communication skills – oral and written
  • Attention to detail and strong initiative
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • A current drivers’ license
  • Basic electrical and mechanical skills (desirable)
  • 4WD and Senior First Aid (desirable)
  • Ability to work on a varied roster
Primary Duties
  • Trouble shooting and fault finding of technical and practical use issues tied to proprietary analytical equipment
  • Understanding how to operate and trouble shoot our field-deployable electronic equipment and supporting software
  • Conduct field and workshop scanning activities
  • Logistical support for field scanning operations
  • Escalate and document incidents in line with company Issue Management System
  • Escalates issue of moderate complexity to senior staff.
  • Travel regularly, including on short notice, to fulfil the above responsibilities.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Performs hands‑on troubleshooting, service and repairs.
  • Contribute to creations of SWP’s and training documentation
  • Provide material support to Product Development teams through testing and reporting activities, and operational rollout.
  • Training of client field technicians to safely and efficiently operate our field deployable analytical technologies
  • Travel to field and other Veracio operational sites to perform duties where required.
  • Comply with EHS Policy and KPIs.
