Job description

Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Mine)

Join to apply for the Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Mine) role at Quebec Iron Ore Inc.

This position is fly-in, fly-out 14-14 on 12-hour shifts. (Volunteering to reside in Fermont (without fly in/fly out) is a major asset.)

Under the responsibility of the Supervisor Maintenance Mining Equipment, the post holder acts as a change agent with regard to the following objectives:

• Occupational health and safety
• Teamwork
• Productivity and continuous improvement
• Respect for delivery times

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of mining equipment (Caterpillar, Bucyrus, etc.) in hydraulics, pneumatic, and electricity (12-24 volts).
• Work on the execution of mechanical activities of the various production equipment.
• Provide advice and serve as a technical reference for any mechanical problems on equipment.
• Perform all other related tasks.

Qualifications Required

• Ideally have a DEP in site machine mechanics or any other relevant mechanical training.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance of mining equipment (Caterpillar, Bucyrus, and other mobile mining equipment), with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical experience.
• Comfortable performing maintenance requiring the use of a laptop.
• Must have a valid driving license.

Knowledge and Skills

• Comfortable working at heights and outdoors.
• Demonstrated commitment to health and safety, along with dynamism, versatility, and teamwork abilities.
