Job summary

BESTECH is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern (EIT) to support the design, assessment, and delivery of mechanical projects. You will perform calculations, assist with system design, prepare technical drawings, and conduct field investigations under the guidance of senior engineers.

You will apply CSA/ASME/ASTM/API standards, develop specs and drawings, and support QA/QC. A Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required, with 2–4 years of related experience and progress toward P.Eng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 2–4 years of related mechanical engineering experience.
• Working toward Professional Engineering Certification (P.Eng.).
• Knowledge of CSA, ASME, ASTM, API codes and provincial regulations.
• Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, SolidWorks, Inventor or similar software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and verify technical calculations for mechanical systems and equipment.
• Assist with design, assessment, rehabilitation, and optimization of mechanical systems and infrastructure.
• Perform equipment sizing, selection, and evaluation under senior engineers.
• Develop technical specifications, drawings, and construction documentation using CAD tools.
• Conduct site visits for data collection and field investigations.
• Apply relevant codes and standards in design activities.
• Perform QA/QC reviews and support technical reports and deliverables.
• Support business development and client communications and documentation.
• Coordinate project tasks, timelines, budgets, and resources.
