Job summary

Soucy Group is offering a hands-on mechanical design internship in Saint-Jérôme, Canada. You will turn ideas into drawings and prototypes, create 2D/3D models, and update technical documentation under supervision.

You’ll participate in product development stages, support manufacturing and testing activities, and gain real project experience with a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on internship focused on turning ideas into drawings and prototypes.
• Experience updating drawings and BOMs is a plus.
• Ability to perform basic sizing calculations under guidance.

Responsibilities

• Create manufacturing and assembly drawings (2D/3D) under supervision.
• Model simple mechanical parts and subassemblies using CAD software.
• Update drawings, BOMs, and technical data sheets.
• Prepare reports and technical notes on completed tasks.
• Assist in manufacturing, assembly, or installation of prototypes.
• Participate in functional and performance tests on equipment.

As a mechanical design intern, you'll help create drawings and 3D models, update technical documentation, and develop prototypes.

During this internship, you'll have the opportunity to:

• Help create manufacturing and assembly drawings (2D/3D) under supervision
• Model simple mechanical parts and subassemblies using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or equivalent)
• Help update drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical data sheets
• Perform basic sizing calculations and tolerance checks with support from the technical team
• Help draft and update procedures and technical data sheets
• Prepare reports and technical notes on completed tasks
• Assist the team during the manufacturing, assembly, or installation of prototypes
• Participate in functional and performance tests on equipment and components
• Document observations and help identify nonconformities
