Overview

We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineering Graduate to join our team and work alongside senior engineers to deliver innovative solutions for our clients. This role offers hands-on experience across a variety of exciting mechanical engineering projects, with opportunities to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and grow your career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design mechanical systems and select equipment for food and beverage plants, including HVAC, plumbing, underground utilities, and natural gas distribution.
  • Assist in selecting process hot water and steam boiler equipment, including steam/condensate piping design.
  • Validate designs through testing protocols and data analysis to ensure efficiency and performance.
  • Support project management tasks like planning, costing, and coordination with engineers and technologists.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation and provide budget recommendations.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines—architectural, electrical, civil, refrigeration, and more—to meet client expectations.
  • Work with technologists to prepare client-approved plans and assess process equipment for client use.
  • Review specifications, ensure compliance with regulations, and keep projects on track.
  • Deliver presentations and assist senior engineers in client communications.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Actively working towards eligibility with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code for Plumbing and HVAC, Ontario Fire Code, ASHRAE, NFPA, OSHA, CFIA, TSSA, and CSA standards.
  • Familiarity with ammonia and halocarbon refrigeration systems is a plus.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office (Outlook, Project, Word, Excel).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and solve problems under tight deadlines.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1–3 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally in the food or pharmaceutical sector.

Compensation

Compensation range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
