Job summary

Genetics is seeking a dynamic Mechanical Design Technician to join our team. You will contribute to the design of deliverables, read and interpret complex specifications, and support equipment manufacturing and commissioning.

The role requires a DEC in mechanical engineering or equivalent and 5–9 years of design experience, with proficiency in SolidWorks or Revit preferred. French fluency is essential, with English a helpful asset for client collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5 to 9 years of design experience in the mechanical field.
• Fluent in spoken and written French; English an asset for collaborating with clients outside Quebec.
• Strong adaptability, autonomy and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive, identify, and analyze client needs.
• Read, interpret, analyze, and understand the various technical clauses of plans and specifications.
• Participate in the design of various deliverables (technical concepts, plans, lists, datasheets, calculations, manuals, etc.), in accordance with client specifications and standards.
• Participate in the selection of equipment involved in the designs.
• Provide support technical expertise during equipment manufacturing.
• Provide technical support and/or participate in equipment commissioning.

• Holds a DEC (Diploma of College Studies) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
• Haves 5 to 9 years of design experience in the mechanical field;
• Knowledge of SolidWorks/Revit software (an asset);
• Fluent in spoken and written French (fluency in English is an asset for collaborating with our clients outside Quebec);
• Demonstrates strong adaptability;
