Job summary

Moment Energy is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co‑op starting January 2027. You will support design, development, and testing of battery energy storage systems while gaining hands‑on experience with experienced engineers.

You will contribute to mechanical design, fabrication, testing, and documentation, bringing concepts to prototype stage. This role rewards hands‑on learners eager to apply engineering principles to clean energy tech.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong preference for design team or co-op experience.
• Available for an 8‑month co‑op term.
• Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).
• Interest in mechanical design, prototyping, and product development.
• Hands‑on experience with fabrication, assembly, or prototyping.
• Understanding of mechanical drawings, tolerancing, and documentation.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Detail‑oriented with good documentation and communication.

Responsibilities

• Support the mechanical design and integration of battery energy storage systems.
• Create models and detailed drawings using 3D CAD software.
• Contribute to the research, development, and improvement of subsystems.
• Assist with fabrication and assembly of enclosures and subsystems.
• Perform basic mechanical and electrical assembly tasks.
• Assist in mechanical and system‑level testing and document results.
• Produce design, test, and FMEA documentation.
• Support builds, prototype testing, and troubleshooting during development.
• Collaborate to ensure products are reliable and ready for production.
