Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to oversee projects from concept to completion in our Canadian operations. You will develop 3D models, assemblies and detailed drawings in line with Valmet specifications, and prepare bills of materials and release drawings.

You will perform necessary calculations, carry out 3D scans, ensure compliance with contract requirements, and provide technical support in project meetings with customers.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum two years of related experience.
• Experience in 3D modeling, drawings, and BOMs.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Develops 3D models, assemblies and detail drawings per Valmet specs.
• Completes BOMs and drawing releases.
• Checks drawings and BOMs for quality and fit.
• Performs calculations to ensure equipment meets contract requirements.
• Performs 3D scans and validates equipment fit.
• Supports project meetings with customers.
• Supervises design team on small to medium projects to meet schedules.
