Job summary

Linxus Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Pipe Stress to perform pipe stress analysis, design pipe supports, and ensure compliance with WRC 107/297 and project standards. The role requires CAESAR II expertise and coordination with Piping Design, Process, and Project teams.

You will review piping isometrics and drawings for fabrication release, work with basic information like Plot Plans and P&IDs, and maintain project files.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s level or above in engineering disciplines with relevant design/ drafting background.
  • Professional Engineer status or eligibility with APEGA preferred.
  • Experience in pipe stress analysis and structural design is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pipe stress analysis using Caesar II, pipe supports design, calculations using WRC 107 and WRC 297.
  • Perform calculations using FE Pipe, Nozzle Pro.
  • Ensure compliance with equipment nozzle loading requirements and design standards.
  • Review piping isometrics and detailed drawings for fabrication release.
  • Coordinate with Piping Design, Process, Static Equipment, Procurement and Project teams.
  • Analyze basic information such as Plot Plans, P&IDs, LDTs, piping specs and codes for compliance.
  • Compile and maintain job files, records, and progress reports.

Education

Civil/Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology, Engineering Design/Drafting Technology Diploma or equivalent
MSc. Structural Engineering or extensive experience in Structural Engineering with emphasis on design
Must be registered as a Professional Engineer, or eligible to register as a P.Eng with APEGA

About the job Mechanical Engineer - Pipe Stress

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform pipe stress analysis using Caesar II, pipe supports design, calculations using WRC 107 and WRC 297,
  • perform calculations using FE Pipe, Nozzle Pro.
  • Ensures compliance with equipment nozzle loading requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with approved design standards and the Clients specifications, to provide quality design
  • Review piping isometrics and detailed drawings and release for fabrication.
  • Liaise with the engineering disciplines: Piping Design, Process, Static Equipment, Procurement and Project team.
  • Works independently in the analysis of piping design code compliance from basic information, which includesPlot Plans, P&IDs and LDTs, Piping Specifications, applicable Code and Line Classifications,and Equipment Data Sheets or Vendor Drawings.
  • Compiles and maintains job files, records, and progress reports for work assigned.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in EPCM companies.
  • Competent user withCAESAR II® technology.

EDUCATION AND ACCREDITATION

  • Civil/Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology, Engineering Design/Drafting Technology Diploma orequivalent required.
  • Preference will be given to MSc. Structural Engineering or extensive experience in Structural Engineering withemphasis on design.
  • Must be registered as a Professional Engineer, or eligible to register as a P.Eng with APEGA.
