Job summary

CIMA+’s Energy & Resources team in Vancouver or Calgary is seeking a Junior Mechanical EIT to contribute to piping stress analysis and design on multidisciplinary industrial projects. You will work with senior engineers to develop stress models, review layouts, and ensure code compliance.

This early-career role offers exposure to CAESAR II, piping design, and field considerations across energy transition projects, with opportunities for growth and certification readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 1–3 years in piping engineering, piping design, or pipe stress analysis; entry level considered with strong fundamentals.
  • Proficiency with CAESAR II for static pipe stress analysis.
  • Familiarity with ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.9 piping codes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II under guidance of senior engineers.
  • Develop and review piping stress models for thermal, sustained, occasional, seismic loads.
  • Review piping layouts, P&IDs, isometrics, and vendor docs for stress inputs.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design issues identified through stress analysis.
  • Prepare stress isometrics, calculations, and reports.
