Job summary

FLSmidth is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop heavy industrial equipment in an international setting. You will perform FEA-based analyses, collaborate with engineers, and present findings to stakeholders, while traveling to project sites as needed.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with at least five years of relevant experience and strong skills in ANSYS, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Office. Excellent communication across diverse teams is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in design and stress analysis of mechanical components.
  • Hands-on experience with ANSYS for modelling, simulation and optimization.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks and MS Office; strong communication across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare conceptual and detailed designs and apply finite element analysis (FEA) techniques to the mechanical design and evaluation of heavy industrial machinery
  • Perform stress analysis on mechanical components to assess structural integrity and suitability of designs
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate FEA results and propose optimized solutions
  • Document and present findings from FEA simulations to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy in reporting
  • Travel to project sites and regional offices as needed to support manufacturing, equipment installation, and field service
  • Actively participate in team efforts to achieve shared project goals
