Job summary

Thermon is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to review and certify ASME Sect. I, IV, VIII design documents and to lead mechanical equipment projects. You will seal reports, coordinate with design teams, and ensure compliance with quality programs and safety standards.

Ideal candidates hold a P.Eng. in Ontario, 3+ years of related experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD/SolidWorks/PDMS. This role emphasizes collaboration with production, welding, QA, and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Licensed professional engineer in Ontario.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of CSA B51 and ASME BPVC Sect. I, IV, VIII Div.1/2, IX.
• Familiar with materials, welding techniques, and fabrication processes.
• Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks and/or PDMS.
• Nuclear industry knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Act as Certifying Engineer for ASME Sect. I, IV, VIII Div.1 and 2 design documents.
• Prepare and seal pressure vessel design reports and calculations.
• Review ASME code edition changes and update Thermon quality program.
• Provide guidance as Code compliance SME to engineering teams.
• Develop WPS and PQR per ASME Sect. IX.
• Participate in design reviews and liaise between production and engineering.
• Collaborate with production, welding and QA to ensure correct implementation.
• Review project specs and codes to ensure compliance through all phases.
• Follow Thermon's quality procedures.
• Coordinate with Authorized Inspectors for compliance.
• Support root-cause analysis and troubleshooting in production.
