Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Kincardine, ON

Job Type: Contract (Can Be Extended Annually) or Full-Time Permanent

Seniority Level: Intermediate/Senior

Salary Expectations: $90k - $130k

Summary:

Performs standard engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks, and resolution of field problems.

Complete field visits to support engineering work development.

Liaise with clients to ensure solutions identified meet underlying needs.

Complete engineering deliverables to support plant lifetime operations including design, construction, testing, commissioning, plant operations, and maintenance.

Core Mechanical Engineering Specific Skill Requirements:

• Design, analysis, and qualification of Structures, Systems, and Components.
• IEE (Item Equivalency) qualification preferred.
• Experience in system engineering and design review processes.
• Experience in manufacturing and constructability methods.
• Ability to support design and constructability review meetings.
• Working knowledge and understanding of CSA N285.0, CSA B51, CSA N299/Z299, ASME BPVC.
• Familiarity with CSA S16, CSA N289, National Building Code of Canada, ASME B30.20.
• Familiarity with engineering software tools, such as ANSYS, AutoPIPE, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MicroShield.
• Ability to prepare and/or provide critical peer review of various engineering calculations and reports.
• 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Holds an EIT designation with PEO progressing to get PE License or has an existing PE License.
• Effective written and verbal communication with colleagues and clients. Actively participates in solving technical issues identified by Project Management, Business Line Management, or by Customer requests with the objective to increase business opportunities.
• Bruce Power ECC experience and ability to navigate in Maximo is preferred.
• Ability to work with Senior Engineers and other disciplines. Ability to respond to rapidly changing demands.
• Ability to execute work to high safety and quality requirements.
