Job summary

Tekna Group is seeking a Mechanical Design Drafter to help design and develop manufactured products. You will create 3D models from sketches, produce production-ready 2D drawings, and assemble components with BOMs. Collaboration with R&D will drive new concepts while applying established drafting standards.

The role requires strong CAD skills, teamwork, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment at our Sherbrooke site.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering technician diploma or DVS in industrial drafting.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or equivalent, and MS Office.
• Works well in a team and is open to feedback.
• Strong analytical, autonomous, rigorous and resourceful.
• Creative and proposes new ideas and methods.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Mechanical Design Department Manager, the incumbent participates in the design and development of manufactured products. They will have the following responsibilities:

Responsabilities

• Create 3D models of parts from 2D sketches or from physical parts;
• Produce 2D drawings with the dimensioning required for production;
• Design 3D mechanical assemblies and generate bills of materials from them;
• Collaborate on the development of new concepts and designs for the R&D department;
• Apply company standards for drafting and modeling;
• Participate in problem-solving related to drawings and production release.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering technician diploma or DVS (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in industrial drafting;
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or equivalent, and the Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook);
• Works well in a team and is very open to giving and receiving constructive feedback;
• Strong analytical skills; autonomous, rigorous and resourceful;
• Creative (proposes new ideas and ways of doing things);
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics (an asset).
