Summit Search Group is currently seeking a driven and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join their growing engineering team. This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional who is curious about business processes and passionate about bringing precision and innovation to design automation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining configurable CAD models, documenting design rules, and optimizing product configurations for efficient, repeatable production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Become a subject matter expert in the design of various SolutionAir product lines, with a focus on configurability and standardization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product designs and engineering data for consistent and efficient manufacturing.
• Develop detailed documentation of product design rules, standards, and best practices to support scalability and knowledge transfer.
• Maintain and expand a library of robust, configurable 3D CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks and DriveWorks.
• Add new product configurations and associated logic into the DriveWorks automation platform, enhancing user experience and design speed.
• Support engineering teams by recommending and implementing process improvements and new tools that enhance design efficiency and accuracy.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by integrating hands-on feedback from fabrication and assembly teams into product designs.

Qualifications:

• Post-Secondary Education in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology Diploma or an equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years experience in mechanical or machine design within a manufacturing environment. HVAC considered an asset.
• Strong knowledge of product change management principles and configuration control.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, preferably with SolidWorks, including experience creating parametric and configurable models.
• Experience with DriveWorks or similar product configurator tools is preferred.
