Job summary

Wikov Group in Canada seeks a Mechanical Designer to create new and derivative power transmission products and rotating equipment packages to meet specifications.

You will design clutches, gears, housings, hydraulics, generate documentation and BOMs, support project team, and maintain drawing libraries while providing in-house support during projects.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering Degree or Technology Diploma or equivalent industry experience.
• 3–5 years design experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience designing power transmission components (clutches, gears, housings, lubrication and hydraulic systems).
• Product development experience; ISO 9001 setting experience.
• Well-organized, multi-tasking with a strong commitment to deliverables.
• Familiarity with Pro-E or other solid modeling software.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Design clutches, gears, housings, hydraulics systems and other powertrain components.
• Create controlled engineering documentation and drawings to support project execution.
• Create detailed project Bill of Materials.
• Support the rest of project team (Project Manager, Designers, and Operations) to complete required submittals and confirm scope/design details meet all project requirements.
• Maintain & update project-drawing libraries, within area of responsibility.
• Provide in-house support for Operations & Field Service staff during appropriate times over the course of a project schedule.

Knowledge, Skills, Attributes and Experience:

• Mechanical Engineering Degree or Technology Diploma or an amount of relevant industry experience that would be equivalent.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of design experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experienced in designing power transmission products including: clutches, gears, housings, lubrication and hydraulic systems.
• Product development experience. Experience in an ISO 9001 setting.
• A well-organized, multi-tasking ability with strong commitment to meet deliverable is required.
• Familiarity with Pro-E or other solid modeling software.
