Job summary

Design Works Engineering in Edmonton is seeking a mechanical designer to join our growing team. You will coordinate, verify, and design mechanical building systems for commercial, institutional, low-rise and high-rise projects.

This on-site role offers opportunities to work across Alberta and Canada with a collaborative team. Requirements include a diploma or degree in mechanical engineering or related field, 5+ years of experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, solid knowledge of building

Qualifications

• A Diploma/ Degree in mechanical engineering, design, or technology.
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, low-rise and high-rise buildings, and multi-family residential projects.
• Knowledge of mechanical building systems design.
• Strong working knowledge of applicable building codes, standards, and best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• A natural self-starter with the ability to prioritize, self-schedule, and work with colleagues from various departments, market sectors, and locations.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

The Position:

We are actively seeking a mechanical designer to join our growing location in Edmonton, Alberta.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Provide the coordination, verification, and design of mechanical building systems in various sectors (multi-family residential, commercial, industrial).
• Design mechanical building systems.
• Work closely with engineers to provide solutions tailored to clients’ needs.
• Understand and implement personal and company safety by adhering to all safety protocols.
• Assist in preparing, calculating, engineering, and designing drawings and specifications.
• Supervise, monitor, and inspect mechanical installations and construction projects.

What You Bring:
