Job summary

VMAC is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join our Packaged Products team in British Columbia. This hands-on role involves assembling VMAC products, maintaining safety and quality, and contributing to continuous improvement.

You will follow drawings, rebuild and repair as needed, identify bottlenecks, and help improve efficiency. You’ll coordinate with the Parts Department, test assemblies, and participate in inventory activities to ensure smooth production.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in mechanical assembly or similar.
• Ability to read detailed assembly drawings and specs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble products following current drawings.
• Rebuild and repair products as needed.
• Identify bottlenecks and improve processes.
• Follow production schedule and communicate issues.
• Test assembled products where required.
• Liaise with Parts Department to ensure parts supply.
• Participate in inventory counts and report discrepancies.

VMAC has multiple Mechanical Assembler openings to join our Packaged Products team, reporting to the Production Supervisor. As a Mechanical Assembler, you will play an important role in assembling VMAC products while contributing to our commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

As Mechanical Assembler you will:

• Follow current drawings when assembling products.
• Rebuild and repair products where required.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks.
• Improve efficiency and quality assembly processes.
• Follow Production Schedule and prioritize daily work, accordingly, communicating any bottlenecks or flow problems to Production Supervisor.
• Test and identify all assembled products where required.
• Liaise with the Parts Department to ensure adequate supply of parts.
• Report on spoilage, stock damage, shrinkage, and inventory inaccuracies.
• Monitor inventory levels and report on outages, low or overstock quantities.
• Ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing goods.
• Participate in periodic physical inventory counts.
• Participate in the development and implementation of department objectives.
• Liaise with other departments internally and externally to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Other duties as required.
