Job summary

Gentek Building Products - Canada is seeking a skilled Millwright to construct, repair and install machinery in an extrusion environment. You will test and maintain equipment, follow layouts, and ensure safety compliance across rotating day/night shifts.

The ideal candidate holds an Ontario Millwright certificate (433A) and has 2–3 years of trade experience, with strong English communication and independence. CMMS and Excel proficiency preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess an Ontario Certificate of Qualification, Red Seal Millwright 433A license.
• Preferably 2–3 years trade experience.
• Experience with extrusion equipment is an asset.
• Available to work 8‑hour shifts rotating days, nights and afternoons with overtime as needed.
• Strong written and oral English communication skills with excellent attendance.
• Self-starter who can work independently and safely.
• Knowledge of CMMS, Excel, and Microsoft Windows/Office.
• Secondary Trade Qualifications or experience in Electrical, Welding, or Pipefitting are assets.
• Knowledge of PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components.
• Install machinery and equipment according to layouts and drawings, using hoists and hand/power tools.
• Dismantles machines and equipment and performs overhauls and changeovers.
• Ensure safe operation and maintain clean, safe work environment.
• Complete documentation and paperwork as required.
• Communicate safety and process issues with Supervisors and Managers.
• Adhere to plant safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components
• Strong Knowledge of oil pumps and cooling/heating systems
• Create, repair and install machine guarding
• Ability to detect, troubleshoot, and repair irregularities and malfunctions in production equipment
• Fabricate parts as required, do overhauls, and changeovers/set ups as required
• Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings in industrial establishment, using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools
• Dismantles machines and equipment
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete documentation/paperwork as required
• Communicate with Supervisors and Managers on safety or process related issues
• Adhere to plant safety rules, health and safety policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, bend, twist, lift, use hands, finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• Must regularly lift and/or move more than 25 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
