Job summary

A manufacturing company in Hamilton is seeking a skilled Machine Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain circular knitting machines. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in the textile production environment, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to ensure machine performance and compliance with safety standards. This position involves both technical and supervisory responsibilities, including training staff and overseeing production workflows.

Job description

- Ability to repair and maintain circular knitting machines including: Orizio, Monarch, Texten, Lien Yuan, Pai Lung, Beane

- General Maintenance such as: change needles, sinkers, belts, grease and clean to ensure quality andoptimal performance

- Proactive in troubleshooting, detecting irregularities and malfunctions.

- Inspect, report and dismantle inoperable machines for reusable parts, recycle

- Read blueprints, diagrams and drawings to install, align, dismantle and overhaul

- Ability to operate rigging, hoisting/lifting devices and forklifts to position machinery and parts duringinstallation, set-up and repair or relocating

- Hire, supervise and co-ordinate all production and workers

- Provide complete training to optimal machine production and ensure safety

- Ensure all company policies and safety procedures are followed

- Establish methods to meet targets and product demand

- Review all work orders for accuracy, material for quality

- Submit material/supply requisitions and reports to Management

- Resolve work issues and recommend improvements and production flow

- Submit week production, machine and worker reports for improvements

- Increase machine performance, production and quality control

Job Requirements:

- Completion of an apprenticeship or diploma program in a related trade
- Work Experience of 5+ years in the knitting/textile production environment
- Experience in process, equipment, safety and company polices
- Detailed department documentation, reporting, flow, procedures
- Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, no company benefits plan
