Job summary

Purolator Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair heavy duty equipment at our Etobicoke hub. The role ensures safety and reliability, supporting on-site maintenance and responsive service calls for breakdowns.

The ideal candidate holds a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics license, an AZ/Class 1 license with a clean abstract, and at least three years of diesel experience. This on-site position operates in a warehouse environment with a Monday–Friday shift.

Qualifications

• Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics license.
• AZ/Class 1 license with a clear abstract meeting Purolator’s insurance requirements.
• 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair on-/off-road and heavy duty vehicles and equipment to meet preventative maintenance schedules, ensure proper function, and meet vehicle safety and quality goals.
• Assist with entering data in the mechanic’s maintenance and repair database (e.g., Web Fleet Assistant).
• Communicate concerns or escalate unusually complex or persistent problems to the Foreman or other manager.
• Respond to service calls for equipment breakdowns when no supervisor is available to assist in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues arising from the Control Room, Dispatch, or Drivers.

Description

The Diesel Mechanic inspects, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs assigned on-/off-road and heavy duty equipment to ensure proper function and vehicle safety and meet quality and performance goals.

• Valid “AZ/Class 1” class driver's license with a clear driver’s abstract that meets Purolator’s insurance requirements.
• 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.

Language Requirement

Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders.
