Responsibilities

  • Perform general mechanical work on buses, trolley coaches, and related equipment.
  • Conduct maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of vehicles and their components.

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Certification as a Truck and Transport Mechanic or Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship as a Commercial Transport Mechanic or Heavy-Duty Mechanic, or Military Certificate in Vehicle Technician QL5 with a Red Seal Certification.
  • Knowledge of electrical work, steering, hydraulic, and air brake systems.
  • CVIP certification is required.
  • Ability to obtain a Class 2 driver’s license with air ticket after training.
  • An up-to-date driving abstract with no more than 6 points in the past 3 years, and no impaired convictions or roadside suspensions in the past 5 years.
  • Must undergo a comprehensive medical examination.

Other Information

  • Selection process involves demonstrating minimum qualifications and experience through interviews including scenario and behavioral questions.

Work Schedule

37.5 hours per week.

Work Designation

Resident; primarily on-site work.

Rate of Pay

$59.69 per hour, including benefits such as extended health, dental, transit pass, and pension plan. Opportunities for development through tuition reimbursement, training, and wellness programs.
