Job summary

Arrow Transportation Systems Inc. is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic in Grande Prairie, AB to join our team. The successful candidate will perform skilled repair and preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, and mobile equipment, including diagnostic work and road calls when needed.

We welcome journeymen, Red Seal, or 2nd-year apprentices in certified programs. A clean driver’s abstract, strong hydraulics and electrical skills, and a commitment to safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Journeyman's certificate, Red Seal, or equivalent qualification.
• 2nd year or higher apprentices in a certified mechanic program will be considered.
• Clean drivers abstract.
• Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical, including schematics and diagnostics.
• Experience with routine maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine maintenance on tractors, trailers and mobile equipment.
• Check all equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
• Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair.
• Perform incidental welding repairs on equipment.
• Operate automotive servicing equipment (A/C recycler, etc.).
• Maintain knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.

We are looking for an a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join us and become part of our Arrow family in Grande Prairie, AB. We are also open to considering apprentices in their second year (or higher) of schooling. As an Arrow mechanic, you will perform skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of tractors, trailers and mobile equipment.
