Job summary

Nokia in Ottawa is seeking motivated students for a 4-month on-site Engineering internship. You will assist mechanical engineers by reviewing material properties, supporting in-lab prototype assembly, and helping develop software tools used later in production.

You will collaborate with engineers on drawings, fabrication techniques, and tolerance analysis, gaining hands-on experience with CREO and electronics packaging in a fast-paced telecom environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field in Canada.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and proactive approach.
• Experience with 3D software and MS Office is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanical engineers in reviewing and documenting material properties for Nokia telecom products.
• Support in-lab prototype assembly and preparing hardware documents.
• Contribute to development of software tools for future use by engineers.
• Create and review mechanical fabrication and assembly drawings for internal and external customers.
• Develop part designs and assemblies with guidance in sheet metal, plastics, castings and tolerances.
