Job summary

Sobeys Inc. is seeking a Meat & Seafood Clerk to help customers find fresh meat and seafood, prepare and package products, and keep displays appealing and well-stocked.

This role offers opportunities to develop skills in food preparation, merchandising, and customer service while upholding high standards of freshness and safety. You will work with the team to ensure quality products, friendly service, and a positive shopping experience for every customer, adhering to safety protocols and company

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Above average communication skills (oral and written).
• May be required to lift up to 20lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Food Safety Protocols and company policies.
• Order, receive, prep, and merchandise meat products per inventory procedures.
• Provide superior customer service to meet needs.
• Promote featured products to increase store sales.
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance; keep area clean.
• Prep customer meat orders as required.
• Process department shrink as required.
• Participate in training junior staff.
• Other duties as required.

As a Meat & Seafood Clerk, you’ll play an important role in delivering an exceptional shopping experience by helping customers find fresh, high-quality meat and seafood products. You’ll assist with customer orders, prepare and package products, and ensure our displays are well-stocked, organized, and appealing. Here’s Where You’ll Have An Impact

• Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
• Order, receive, prep, and merchandise meat product in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs
• Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements
• Prep Customer Meat orders, as required
• Process department shrink, as required
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Other duties as required
