Job summary

Sobeys Inc. in Delta, BC is seeking a Meat Wrapper to deliver friendly customer service while maintaining strict food safety standards. You will wrap, label and price meat and poultry products and help keep the department clean and organized.

This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work early shifts; full-time hours with overtime may apply. You will collaborate with teammates to promote products and support in-store merchandising.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Flexible hours including early shifts (5am/6am).

Responsibilities

• Adherence to Food Safety Protocols, SOPs and health and safety programs.
• Provide customer service to meet customer needs.
• Wrap, package, price, label and date meat and poultry products.
• Keep the work area clean and presentable at all times.
• Handle, organize and rotate products per company standards.
• Record information in relevant logs.
• Execute merchandising and product presentation standards.
• Handle and prepare deli products per quality standards and safety.
• Promote products to increase store sales.
• Train junior staff and assist with onboarding.
• Order and receive stock according to inventory procedures.
• Maintain and prepare meat products for service.
• Process department shrink and other duties as required.

The Meat Wrapper is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties of the position in a professional, accurate and timely fashion. The Meat Wrapper will deliver exceptional customer service, foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

• Adherence to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, corporate policies and Health and Safety, and other programs and initiatives
• Provide customer service to meet customer needs
• Accurately wraps, packages, prices, labels, and dates all meat and poultry products in a financially responsible manner
• Keep work area clean and presentable at all times
• Handle, organize, and rotate products in accordance with company standards
• Accurately records information in all appropriate logs
• Perform program execution and merchandising product, following company presentation standards
• Handle and prepare deli products in accordance with company quality standards and food safety protocols
• Increase store sales by actively promoting products
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Order and receive stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures
• Maintain and prepare meat products for service case, if applicable
• Process department shrink
• Other duties as required
