Meat Assistant Department Manager - Full Time

We are looking for a Meat Assistant Department Manager - Full Time who is passionate about food and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team environment!

This is your opportunity to advance your career in a leadership role. As the Assistant Meat Department Manager, you will assist the Meat Manager to ensure that the department is prepared for daily operations.

What you’ll do:

  1. Motivate and mentor Team Members
  2. Provide support with regular team meetings
  3. Coach and train Team Members to maintain the highest level of productivity
  4. Handle Team Member and customer issues
  5. Uphold company policies and procedures including health & safety, food safety and loss prevention
  6. Merchandise, manage inventory and schedule to meet financial objectives
  7. Provide exceptional customer service to all Team Members, Customers and Vendors

What we are looking for:

  1. Minimum of 1-year experience in a meat department with a solid understanding of product knowledge
  2. Previous experience with cutting meat
  3. Knowledge of raw materials, product processes and quality control costs
  4. Strong customer service skills and the ability to build relationships with Team Members and Customers
  5. Ability to lead, coach, motivate and work in a fast-paced environment
  6. Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new systems
  7. Ownership to resolve issues with a sense of urgency
  8. Effective communication and listening skills
  9. Strong creativity skills and ability to create eye-catching displays
  10. Ability to role model and inspire behaviour consistent with our values
  11. Work is performed in a store retail environment
  12. Must be available to work days, evenings and weekends
  13. Travel is required to support off-site events
