Job summary

Weatherford Canada is seeking a Measurement While Drilling Specialist to support oil and gas drilling operations with real-time downhole data and accurate well surveying. You will operate MWD tools, test and maintain equipment, and collaborate with Directional Drillers to meet client expectations while deploying to remote rigs for extended 20-day assignments.

A High School Diploma or GED and proficiency with MS Office are required, with willingness to work long rotations and possess a valid

• Intermediate proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Strong teamwork abilities with capability to assign and verify work of others.
• Technical aptitude to provide functional support in field operations.
• Willingness to work extended deployments at remote locations (minimum 20-day continuous assignments).
• Flexibility for typical 20/10 rotation schedules with potential for longer deployments based on operational needs.
• Valid driver's license for transporting company equipment.
• Accommodation provided at rig location during deployment periods.

Responsibilities

• Run MWD tools and deliver real-time drilling data including Inclination, Azimuth, At-Bit-Inclination, Toolfaces, GammaRay, and downhole pressure measurements.
• Test, maintain, and troubleshoot surface and downhole MWD equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Rig up and rig down all equipment at well sites, ensuring proper setup and breakdown procedures.
• Measure tubulars and perform external and internal OTF's (On-The-Fly measurements).
• Assemble BHA (Bottom Hole Assembly) with proper understanding of torques, tubulars, and thread sizes.
• Collaborate closely with Directional Drillers to verify survey and toolface information accuracy and meet client expectations.
• Complete accurate paperwork throughout the job cycle and produce comprehensive final well reports.
• Generate final GammaRay and Annulus Pressure plots upon job completion.
• Transport company equipment (MWD tools, surface kits, muleshoe subs) to and from well sites using company vehicles.
• Maintain and clean company vehicles to operational standards.
