Job summary

Brandon University invites applications for the position of Lab Assistant I in the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science. The role supports Core Math labs and related duties, with 1–2 hours weekly and a September 9 start for up to two students.

Applicants should be second-year undergrads, preferably BU students, and have a strong Math background, with clear communication, punctuality, and reliability emphasized. Compensation is hourly and appointments run until December 11, 2026.

Qualifications

• Must be a second-year undergraduate student.
• Preference given to current Brandon University students.
• Grade A or above in the course applying for.
• Background in advanced math courses is an asset.
• Previous experience preferred.
• Ability to help students courteously with patience and enthusiasm.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Detail-oriented, punctual and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Advise and help in the labs for Core Math under supervision and perform other duties as assigned.
• Assist with lab setup and student support during Core Math sessions.
