Job summary

Altis Technology in Newmarket, ON, is seeking a hands-on Materials Supervisor for a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. You will lead a team of 89 on the production floor, ensuring parts are picked, tracked and delivered to support continuous production.

This contract-to-permanent role offers a stable daytime schedule (7:00 AM–4:00 PM) and the opportunity to directly impact production outcomes through strong leadership, ERP/MRP coordination (SAP), and ongoing problem solving.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of supervisory or team-lead experience in manufacturing, ideally automotive.
  • Hands-on experience with materials, inventory, and material flow.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems, SAP is a strong asset.
  • Strong Excel skills and data-driven mindset.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and lead on the production floor.
  • Lean, 5S and IATF 16949 exposure are assets.
  • Forklift certification or related material-handling experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a 89-person team handling material picking and movement.
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure correct parts are available as needed.
  • Communicate changes in requirements to the team and adjust priorities.
  • Troubleshoot material, inventory and system issues to keep production moving.
  • Use ERP/MRP systems to support material and inventory processes.
  • Stay active on the floor, assisting with picking and material handling when required.

About the Opportunity

Were looking for a hands‑on Materials Supervisor to join a fast‑paced automotive manufacturing environment in Newmarket. Youll lead a team of 89 employees responsible for ensuring the right parts are picked, tracked and delivered where they need to be, helping keep production running smoothly.

This is not a desk‑based supervisory role. Youll be visible on the production floor, supporting your team, responding to changing priorities and catching issues before they affect production. With custom manufacturing comes variety, so this opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems and leading through change.

Your Responsibilities
  • Youll supervise and support a team of 89 employees responsible for picking and moving materials for production.

Skills and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of supervisory or team‑lead experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with automotive experience strongly preferred
  • Hands‑on experience with materials, inventory, production supply, picking or material flow
  • Experience using an ERP or MRP system, with SAP experience considered a strong asset
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with operational data
  • Strong problem‑solving, attention to detail and ability to manage changing priorities
  • Lean Manufacturing, 5S and IATF 16949/TS 16949 exposure are considered assets
  • Forklift certification, shipping/receiving experience or related material‑handling experience are assets
