Materials Laboratory Technician

Location – Saskatoon, SK

The ideal candidate will have completed coursework related to soils, aggregates, and concrete. All new employees will receive training and certification in:

  • Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories (CCIL) Field and Laboratory Concrete Testing.
  • CCIL Aggregate Testing.
  • Radiation Awareness Basic Training.
  • Safe Use of a Nuclear Densometer.

While our projects are primarily based in Saskatchewan, opportunities to work in other provinces may occasionally arise.

Your role within the team:

  • Conduct materials testing in accordance with ASTM, CSA, and Ministry of Highways standards on materials such as soil, aggregate, and concrete.
  • Perform laboratory duties in our Saskatoon central lab, including sample preparation, testing, and equipment maintenance.
  • Participate in health and safety programs.
  • Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of laboratory and field equipment, including mobile field labs.

  • A valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • The ability to provide a criminal record check (required for access to certain client sites).
  • Willingness to travel throughout Saskatchewan, with potential for out-of-province assignments.

  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Physical ability to perform labor-intensive tasks, including lifting up to 30 kg.
